Late last week Cord Cutters News started to get reports from readers that they suddenly have received the new 100-hour DVR add-on from DIRECTV NOW. AT&T has yet to officially launch the add-on or make any announcements; however, a growing number of readers have reached out about getting their hands on the new DIRECTV NOW 100-hour DVR add-on.

The 100-hour DVR add-on was first announced by AT&T a few months ago. AT&T announced it as a summer 2018 launch but so far nothing official has come from AT&T about the new add-on.

Now if you try to add the new 100-hour DVR through the DIRECTVNOW.com website you won’t find it there. A few readers said it just showed up in their account and others told us that chat support successfully added it to their account when they asked for it. Over the last week, we have had a steady flow of readers contacting us about getting access to the DIRECTV NOW 100 hour DVR add-on.

Here are some screenshots showing the 100 hour DVR being listed:

You can also find a copy of the email confirmation for the 100-hour DVR being added to an account this week HERE.

When Cord Cutters News reached out to AT&T PR we were told the 100-hour DVR has not yet launched and they are looking into it. It has now been days and more readers have started to contact us about the new add-on showing up.

AT&T has a history of mistakenly launching new products early. It is possible that once again AT&T has rolled this out before they meant to. It is also possible that DIRECTV NOW chat support is selling the 100-hour DVR add-on before they should.

From what we are hearing the new add-on costs either $5 or $10. For now, we will have to wait and see what AT&T announces later this year when they officially roll out their 100-hour DVR.
