DIRECTV NOW Officially Announces 8 New NBC Affiliates

Yesterday we reported that new NBC affiliates had started to show up on AT&T’s live TV streaming service DIRECTV NOW.

At the time we did not know the full list of locals that DIRECTV NOW was releasing. Now AT&T has sent us the full list of NBC affiliates it added last week.

The following are the new NBC affiliates:

  • NBC-WXIA – Atlanta, GA
  • NBC-KING – Seattle-Tacoma, WA
  • NBC-KARE – Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN
  • NBC-KUSA – Denver, CO
  • NBC-WKYC – Cleveland, OH
  • NBC-KSDK – St. Louis, MO
  • NBC-WCNC – Charlotte, NC
  • NBC-KGW – Portland, OR

This is the second time this month that DIRECTV NOW has added more affiliates. Earlier this month AT&T officially announced that it added more ABC, FOX, and NBC affiliates. AT&T did state that it plans to add 40 more locals from ABC, NBC, and FOX but at this time it has not listed what markets will see new local affiliates added.

DIRECTV NOW, Hulu, PlayStation Vue, and even fuboTV are locked in a battle to add the most locals. It seems that not even a week goes by without at least one of the services adding a new set of locals.

At this rate, in a year or two most locals will be streaming on a live TV service such as DIRECTV NOW.

Rollout is almost complete here in Minneapolis, almost could say it is, can live without CW cause the free app, we’re still waiting on POP though on DTVN…………

Yup, I’m golden now. Now just need the blurry picture quality at night to stop. It sounds like it might be a Comcast issue. Gonna switch to century link this winter when my contract is up.

My only remaining request is channel 45 for the high school basketball state tournament. But I can put up an antenna once a year for that.

Still ZILCH for Nashville. even though Vue, Hulu and even YouTube have at least 2

It’s ridiculous Directv now doesn’t have any locals in Nashville when even Fubo has the local CBS.

WRAL has been dropped evidently because it is no longer in my guide. Only ABC (WTVD)

The local Houston NBC news has shown in the search results for more than a week. Maybe it will be added soon…

Just 6 cities doesn’t sound like a big deal YouTube tv is much better option for local tv station

    • Phuq_Me October 15, 2017 at 12:15 pm #

Yes but their choices of cable channels suck. $35 is too much for basically locals. And no roku support.

      • androidscales October 15, 2017 at 2:20 pm #

Dtvn doesn’t support android tv either. Dtvn local channel Support is still horrendous

I get excited every time I see articles like this, then disappointment sets in when it still doesn’t include Phoenix stations (no nbc or cbs yet)

    • Vegas Steve October 15, 2017 at 2:52 pm #

In Las Vegas, they only have ABC. Oh, and telemundo & TMO, i.e. telemundo 2. Because I guess you just can’t have enough telemundo.

That doesn’t really cut it, so I have to do OTA. Phoenix is 3 times as big and should have them all. It’s crazy how these streamers piecemeal locals.
