Well that makes it easier my Direct v contact runs out in January I’ve been looking at live tv streaming services and since I was a at&t unlimited customer I felt that because of the discount it just made since to go with Direct v now even if I liked sling tv better now to get what I want sling tv is still 5 dollars more and for 5 dollars I will go with what I want

It was borderline for me whether to switch to AT&T to get the $25 discount. Glad I didn’t. With all the money they make on cellular, they didn’t need to do this. But they are like big cable, and like big cable, they will suffer. There are too many choices out there now.

Just to make sure I understand – so is this saying that if you’re already an AT&T Unlimited cell user and have their service you’ll continue to receive the $25 discount if you already have it but NEW and returning customers will only receive the $15 discount? If they drop the $25 discount I’m receiving chances are I’m cancelling and going back to MetroPCS where I had a slightly lower bill and better unlimited plan. The ONLY reason I switched from MetroPCS to AT&T’s less reliable cell service is for the $25 discount for DTVNOW.

If I was to lose my discount, I would drop both DTVN and ATT wireless. Go back to Sling and Straight Talk.

I’m bummed. I was planning to go to AT&T after their DVR launches. I had their service at launch with their special deal, but dropped it because their VOD service didn’t work and it’s impossible to see the shows I want every time watching live.

I have the discount. I assume there’s going to be an additional charge for those of us who want the cloud DVR service when it finally arrives. I HOPE that adding the DVR service to our plan doesn’t trigger a change in service and will cause my $25 discount to go to $15. I’ll be quite upset!

This is why you don’t switch carriers for this kind of deal. If the carrier you have offers something like this, by all means take advantage of it. But “discount on DTV Now” or “free Hulu” just don’t justify the hassle of switching carriers.
