APple TV Beta 3

DIRECTV NOW is Sending Out More DVR Beta Invites

Did you miss the first few rounds of invites to test out DIRECTV NOW’s new DVR and app? Well, go check your email as AT&T just started sending out a new round of invites today.

It still looks like you need to be both a DIRECTV NOW customer and an AT&T customer. The new DIRECTV NOW app is still only using the AT&T login to access DIRECTV NOW.

Here is the invite that went out to the lucky few who got selected:

Make sure to check the email address you gave AT&T and look in your spam to make sure it didn’t end up there.

Now, as best we can tell both invites to fill out a survey to be considered for the beta and invites to the beta have been sent out. Above is what an invite to join the beta looks like. The other invite will ask you to take a survey to see if you are eligible to join the beta. If you get the email with a survey you will need to wait for an email like the one above to be able to use the new beta app after you fill out the survey.

Can’t say I’m as happy with it as I was in the beginning. Half the time the app won’t even load, the other half you get an error message when trying to record a show. Then there was that one time where they deleted all the shows everyone had DVR’d. Plus, they took the fast forward button away in commercials.

It doesn’t surprise me one bit. We’ve been an AT&T customer for years and everything they produce is shit, and everything they acquire turns to shit. I’d expect nothing less when they finally release it to the public.

Clearly these AT&T customers are gumming up the works. They need to open this Beta up to everyone.

Once ATT releases their DVR function, wonder if they will charge $$ for it ??

Of course they will, Again you answered your own question when you inserted ATT at the beginning.

        LOL. Yep.

I’m rapidly realizing I can live without it. It’s easier to watch stuff on Hulu and CBS than deal with a DVR.
