Depressed mature man holding paper and looking at it while sitting on the couch at homeOver the weekend Cord Cutters News broke the news that DIRECTV NOW would raise their price and roll out new packages this week. Now DIRECTV NOW has updated their legal description on their free trial to add “*Pricing subj. to change” According to Archive.org this change happened a few weeks. ago.

When you look at DIRECTV NOW’s website today it the legal details on their free trial reads “After free trial, service renews at then-prevailing rate (currently min. $40/mo.) unless you cancel. Pricing subj. to change. Cancel anytime.” Now if you go back to February on Archive.org you will see it used to read “After free trial, service renews at then-prevailing rate (currently min. $40/mo.) unless you cancel.” (Note: Archive.org keeps a record of how popular websites looked in the past.)

According to our sources, AT&T will reportedly replace their current DIRECTV NOW packages with two new ones and raise DIRECTV NOW’s price by $10 a month on current subscribers. The new packages will be called DIRECTV NOW Plus with 40+ channels for $50 a month and DIRECTV NOW MAX with 50+ channels for $70 a month. Current subscribers will be notified of this change starting this week the same day new customers will have to pay this new price. DIRECTV NOW will also be adding HBO to the Plus and MAX packages as a standard channel. This comes from sources with knowledge of AT&T plans to update their prices.

Current DIRECTV NOW customers will be able to keep their old packages but with a $10 a month price hike starting on their next bill. According to our sources as long as you stay subscribed, you will be able to keep your current DIRECTV NOW package. If you leave, you may not be able to resubscribe to the old DIRECTV NOW packages.
