DIRECTV STREAM now offers close to 250 PBS channels. With the addition of the new channels, DIRECTV STREAM’s PBS channels now reach 99% of the country.
Subscribers can now watch local content from their PBS channel, along with PBS Kids, and on-demand content from PBS.
DIRECTV STREAM officially announced that PBS channels were coming to the live TV streaming service in October 2021. At the time, the company expected the rollout to be completed later in 2022.
Previously, YouTube TV was the only option for watching PBS with a live TV streaming service. YouTube TV added PBS and PBS Kids in December 2020.
“Entertainment is personal and should serve every member of the household, which is why we’re partnering with PBS to deliver DIRECTV STREAM customers more choice, more control and a more convenient way to access the content they care about most,” said Rob Thun, Chief Content Officer for DIRECTV, when the announcement about PBS coming to the service was made in 2021.
DIRECTV STREAM packages start at $70 per month for 65+ channels.
