Discovery+ is off to a good start as a new streaming service. The platform’s app was downloaded 3.3 million times across iOS and Google Play in the first month after launching. Compared to other recently-launched streaming services, Discovery+ stacks up pretty well so far with more downloads than HBO Max had (3.1 million) during its first month on the market according to Apptopia.

Peacock is the leader of the three newcomers in terms of its fastest rise to popularity. The NBCUniversal digital platform amassed about 3.7M downloads in its first month of being live.

Another big win for Discovery+ is its user satisfaction rating. Of the app’s users, 65.2% of them are enjoying the app, more than even Disney+’s satisfaction rating of 60.1%. Plus, 75% of Discovery+’s more recent reviews have been postive.

When users do take issue with Discovery+ to leave a negative review, it’s usually about the performance or design of the actual app, and not about the content, which is a good sign for Discovery+.
