MobiTV is a company that helps traditional cable TV companies deliver their content. Now with cord cutting growing they are launching a new service to help cable TV companies become streaming companies.

Recently, MobiTV announced a deal with over 210 networks including Disney, FOX, NBCUniversal, and Viacom to help cable TV companies stream their content online. Now they have announced deals with Univision, Discovery, MGM HD, Outside TV, and the Smithsonian Channel.

This means small local cable companies can now offer a streaming service that includes AMC Networks, Crown Media Family Networks, C-SPAN Networks, Disney and ESPN Media Networks, SHOWTIME®, Viacom, and others.

“The content community continues to support the MOBITV managed service offering and we continue to sign more operators as a result,” said Charlie Nooney, CEO and Chairman of MOBITV. “Feedback continues to be that our platform provides viewers a great experience and allows operators the ability to maintain a competitive edge in the market in a cost-effective manner to their Pay TV and broadband subscriber base. Adding more networks has put us in the lead within the marketplace, as we now have
almost all possible channels within the cable lineup and continue to grow what we believe is giving us a competitive lead.”

“We have a core vision of being everywhere our audience is with the best in sports, news, entertainment and beyond,” said Scott Levine, Senior Vice President, Product & Technology for Univision Communications Inc. “Working with MOBITV helps Univision move closer to its vision, by enabling our partners – and our collective audiences – access to Univision’s programming everywhere they want.”

As large cable companies like Comcast and Spectrum move into streaming, MobiTV helps smaller cable operators stay competitive by offering a prebuilt option to launch their own service. As more people see cord cutting as the future even cable companies are rushing to offer services to meet the cord cutting demand.
