Today Mickey Mouse turns 91 and Disney+ is getting in on the fun. Available today is a new Mickey Mouse short called Happy Birthday, Mickey! You will also find a huge new collection of Mickey Mouse shorts and classic Mickey Mouse movies listed on the home page of Disney+.
This news comes as Disney announced in just over 24 hours after launch, more than 10 million people subscribed to Disney+. The streaming service costs just $6.99/month with a 7-day free trial. Subscribers can get a bundle deal including Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu with limited ads for $12.99/month.
You can see why 10 million people signed up in just over 24 hours. Disney is making a large content library available to subscribers. In September, we shared a post with all of the content those testing Disney+ in The Netherlands were able to access on the app. In addition to classic Disney content, Marvel movies, the Star Wars films and more, Disney has also created original content for the new platform.
Disney did not announce how many subscribers Disney+ has in total but Disney has been accepting signups for over a month now. With this growth, Disney+ could be soon challenging Hulu for the 3rd largest streaming service in the United States.
