When Disney+ launched, one of the big surprises was the fact that VIZIO Smart TVs with Chromecast could not play Disney+. This left many VIZIO TV owners unhappy as they had expected to be able to watch Dinsey+ using the built-in Chromecast. Now VIZIO has announced that they will add Chromecast support for Disney+ in early December. If you have an Apple AirPlay 2 device, you can now watch Disney+ on your VIZIO Smart TV.

“We want consumers to know that when they purchase a VIZIO TV, it will keep its value for years to come,” said Bill Baxter, Chief Technology Officer, VIZIO. “Our team is continually improving SmartCast to ensure users have the best home entertainment experience with more ways to enjoy their favorite content.”

VIZIO says they will be rolling out this update to VIZIO SmartCast TVs built since 2016.

This is breaking news, more coming.
