Disney+ is continuing its mission to remain as family-friendly as possible with the launch of all-new Parental Controls. Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 23, the streamer roll out a new set of controls that lets parents limit access to certain in-app profiles by adding a required PIN passcode to make sure young children can’t access more mature content.

These new parental controls are a big enhancement from the current settings that only offer two types of profiles, with one of them limiting the access of viewers under the age of 7. Now the streamer is adding more tiers including settings for ages 9+, 12+, 14+, 16+, and 18+.

When explaining the more complex rating system, Luke Bradley-Jones, senior VP of direct-to-consumer and general manager for Disney Plus said “It will let customers set content ratings and control access to the app and profiles based on those ratings, which range from 0-plus up to 18-plus” reported Variety.

For example,

  • WandaVision is rated 12+
  • Marvel’s Agents of Shield is rated 16+
  • Moana is rated 6+
  • Toy Story is rated 0+

These new controls are rolling out Feb. 23 globally wherever Disney+ is available.
