National Treasure 3 is in the works at Disney, along with a series version of the film for Disney+. National Treasure producer Jerry Bruckheimer told Collider that both projects are underway and the pilot script is ready to go with outlines for future episodes as well.

“We’re certainly working on one [National Treasure] for streaming and we’re working on one for the big screen,” Bruckheimer said. “Hopefully, they’ll both come together and we’ll bring you another National Treasure, but they’re both very active.”

The series for Disney+ is set to reveal a younger cast but follow along the same story theme, while the theatrical film will see the return of the original cast, including Nicolas Cage as the historian and treasure hunter Benjamin Gates.

The First movie debuted in 2004 with the most recent installment, National Treasure: Book of Secrets released in 2007.
