tv on a tv standBeen thinking about getting Comcast TV? You may want to wait as some of the channels you want may soon be more expensive. Today Cord Cutters News has confirmed that Comcast is moving some of its channels to more expensive packages. Some of these changes have already happened while others will soon happen, as Comcast looks for ways to generate more revenue.

With this change, the Turner Classic Movies channel will leave Xfinity’s normal TV packages. Now if you want the TCM channel, you will need to pay the $9.99 a month for the Sports add-on package that will now include TCM. (Maybe a possible name change for the sports package?) Starz will also be moving out of the Xfinity Premier packages and will now cost an additional $12 a month. This is very similar to what happened to Cinemax earlier this year as it was also removed from the Premiere package.

Comcast will also remove all of their music channels and replaced them with a radio channel available in the Comcast apps.

It looks like Comcast is trying to find ways to generate more revenue by lowering costs on some packages and pushing people to more expensive TV packages. This shuffling of channels has been becoming more common recently as TV companies try to find ways to get more out of customers without publicly raising rates.

No exact date has been announced for these changes but our sources say it will be happening soon.
