Sports-oriented live TV streaming platform fuboTV continues to expand its lineup of live sports after announcing today it has secured exclusive U.S. rights to stream select matches from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The deal is through a 6-year sublicense with FOX Sports and it will kick off with the UEFA Nations League in June 2022.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed but the newest addition bolsters fuboTV’s position as the industry leader with more soccer coverage than any other virtual MVPD (vMVPD).

“Soccer has always been integral to fuboTV’s DNA,” said David Gandler, co-founder and CEO, fuboTV. “Today’s announcement of our deal with FOX Sports to distribute UEFA National Team Football marks an important milestone for the company as we work to differentiate our sports-first content portfolio and reinvent interactive sports and entertainment television. We are excited to partner with FOX Sports to bring some of the world’s most important and thrilling soccer events to consumers over the years to come.”

The sublicense through FOX Sports will allow fuboTV to stream an exclusive package of select UEFA National Team Football matches through 2028, which will feature the top European national teams. Matches from Italy, France, England, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands national teams will be featured in the package, and select matches within the following events in all languages (except Spanish and Portuguese):

  • UEFA Nations League
  • European Qualifiers to UEFA Euro 2024 and 2028
  • European Qualifiers to FIFA World Cup 2026
  • Friendly Matches played by European nations controlled by UEFA
  • UEFA Euro2024 (5 Matches)
  • UEFA Euro2028 (5 Matches)

Fubo Sports Network will be the home of fuboTV’s exclusive UEFA coverage. Subscribers can get Fubo Sports Network as part of fuboTV’s base plan, which features over 100 sports news, and entertainment channels for $64.99 per month

“We’re excited to partner with fuboTV on UEFA’s most-coveted events,” said FOX Sports CEO and Executive Producer, Eric Shanks. “fuboTV and FOX Sports both share a strong passion for soccer, and what better way to celebrate this beautiful game than with some of the world’s greatest tournaments.”

With the addition of UEFA matches, fuboTV is continuing its mission to turn passive fans into interactive fans. Last week, the streaming service added FanView to its MultiView feature for Apple TV users, which combines live scores with multiple streams to give viewers a unique experience.
