Do you own a Chromecast or a device with Chromecast built-in? If your Chromecast is not working this today no worries, it is not you, but Google’s backend servers are down right now.

For most of the day if you try to cast Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc to your Chromecast you will likely find an error, or it just won’t see your Chromecast device in the list. Now Google says they are rolling out a fix but it could take up to 6 hours. If you want the fix faster manually restart your Chromecast to get the update faster according to a tweet from Sarah Perez from Tech Crunch.

This outage seems to also affect devices with built-in Chromecast features like Android TV and select smart TVs. So you may be able to use your Netflix app on a Nvidia Sheild but not be able to cast from your phone to your Nvidia Shield via the built-in Chromecast. So you may also need to restart your TV or Android TV device.
