Do you own a Chromecast device? Has a random YouTube video started playing when you didn’t cast it? Well, you are not alone as reports are coming out that a hacker know as Hacker Giraffe has found a way to play any YouTube video they want on any Chromecast device.

It looks like Hacker Giraffe is using a bug called CastHack that exploits issues in both the Chromecast and the router it is connected to. Hacker Giraffe is using it to send a YouTube video out to Chromecast devices they can access with a message that says “YOUR Chromecast/Smart TV is exposed to the public internet and is exposing sensitive information about you! To find out more about what to do and how to fix this visit, XXXXXX for more information. You should also Subscribe to Pewdiepie. Greetings from @HackerGiraffe and @J3ws3r. Made by rosk2006.”

Google engineers are asking people on Reddit to post share more details about their router to help them track down the issue. For now, it looks like Google is aware of the issue and is working on a fix to solve the problem, but no timeline has been announced for when it will be fixed.
