Haystack TV Adds Live News Ticker on Its Roku App

Haystack TV, an ad-supported streaming service offering local, national, and global news, announced today the launch of “Newsline.” Newsline will feature a dynamic and interactive news ticket. The feature is first launching on Roku and will give Haystack TV app users a feed of breaking news from Haystack’s 300+ news providers.

This is the first of a new system of interactive overlays that Haystack is working on, to make the news experience better for viewers. Haystack already customizes each user’s newscast experience, but with Newsline, the experience will be more interactive and will allow for easy navigation to breaking news stories.

Newsline includes local weather conditions, forecasts and alerts; stock market data for your portfolio; local news headlines; as well as top stories; international, entertainment, business science and technology news; and forex currency data.

Haystack TV offers local news, weather and more from broadcast stations covering 90% of the major metropolitan areas in the United States including 100% of the top 30 DMAs  Haystack also sources a wide range of news coverage from leading U.S. and global providers including ABC News, the AP, Bloomberg, CBS News, Cheddar, CNET, Euronews, Gamespot, Newsy and Yahoo Finance.
