If you use an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 for HBO you will need a new device soon. HBO has announced that in January they will be ending support for their apps on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Well, both devices are old with the Xbox 360 first launching in 2005 it was not discontinued until 2016. So if you bought a new Xbox 360 3 years ago you are sadly out of luck. PlayStation 3 owners are having a similar issue as the PlayStation 3 first launched in 2006 but was not discontinued in the United States until 2016.

Here are some other devices you could use to replace your Xbox 360 or PlayStation Vue to stream HBO:

Or you could use any device that supports Amazon’s app through their HBO Amazon Channels option.

This does high the issues with using a non-dedicated streaming service. Often their app support ends first as dedicated streaming players still get support for the same apps. So if you use a Smart TV or gaming system you may want to think about keeping a streaming player around as a backup.
