Winter is here – according to All Elite Wrestling’s latest special AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming. The TV special will be the second installment in AEW’s Winter is Coming series and the 24th special edition of AEW Dynamite of the year. As of today, the wrestling promotion has 4 matches scheduled for the 2-hour event. AEW founder and president Tony Khan took to Twitter to hype up the event:
AEW Winter is Coming Match Card
- “Hangman” Adam Page (c) vs. Bryan Danielson [AEW World Championship Match]
- MJF (with Shawn Spears and Wardlow) vs. Dante Martin [Winner receives AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring]
- Hikaru Shida vs. Serena Deeb [No Disqualification Match]
- Wardlow (with Shawn Spears) vs. Matt Sydal (with Mike Sydal) [Singles match]
The event’s namesake is a play on words, as it is a reference to the title of the series premiere of HBO’s hit show Game of Throne and the fact that the show takes place right before the Winter Solstice. Coincidentally, HBO is a network owned by a WarnerBros subsidiary, and the media conglomerate is the broadcast partner of AEW.
