Week 8 of the 2020-12 NBA regular season continues tonight with a schedule of 9 games, including a nationally televised doubleheader. Tonight’s games will feature the reigning and defending NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers, the reigning and defending 2-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, and much more. NBA on ESPN will be the home of tonight’s nationally televised doubleheader with the first game tipping off at 7:30 p.m. ET between the 11-12 Hawks and 11-14 Mavericks. A lot of eyes will be on this game because the franchise players for both teams, Luka Dončić and Trae Young, were traded for each other on draft day in 2018. Fans of both teams have been bragging about who is the better player and when these 2 teams met a week ago the Mavs escaped with a 122-116 victory in Dallas.
The second game of ESPN’s doubleheader will tip-off at 10 p.m. ET when the reigning 2-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the 16-8 Bucks travel to the Rust Belt to take on Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and the 14-9 Suns. The Suns have won 6 of their last 7 and haven’t lost a game at home since January 27th. The Bucks have won 5 straight, including their last 3 on the road.
At 7 p.m. ET, YES Network and Fox Sports Indiana will be broadcasting the 12-12 Pacers taking on the 14-12 Nets at the Barclays Center. The Nets have lost 4 of their last 5 and are coming off a disappointing 122-111 upset against the Pistons. They will be without former MVP Kevin Durant tonight. The Pacers have also lost 4 of their last 5; however, they lost closer games against tougher competition.
At 10 p.m. ET, the 19-6 Lakers will host the 10-13 Thunder on Spectrum SportsNet and Fox Sports Oklahoma. The Lakers have won 8 of their last 10 games and are currently on a 5-game win streak. The defending champions have not missed a step this season and LeBron James is looking like the favorite for this year’s NBA MVP. For a young team, the Thunder have been punching above their weight this season. When these 2 teams played on Monday, it was a thriller, the Lakers won 119-112 in overtime.
