The NFL season rolls on with a stacked lineup of 14 games on the gridiron this week. The Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans, and Carolina Panthers are off this week due to byes.
Week 13 will kick off with an NFC matchup on Thursday Night Football. Dak Prescott and the 7-4 Dallas Cowboys travel down to the Caesars Superdome to take on the 5-6 New Orleans Saints. The Saints are on a 4-game losing streak and their playoff hopes are hanging on by a thread. It appears that 9 or 10 wins will be enough to secure the 7th playoff spot in the NFC, which means New Orleans doesn’t have much wiggle room to work with. This is a winnable game for the Saints, as the Cowboys have lost 3 of their last 5 and don’t appear to be legitimate contenders. There are sure to be interesting polls available during the Amazon Prime Video stream of Thursday night’s game.
Sunday Night Football is a pivotal matchup between two AFC West foes. Teddy Bridgewater and the 6-5 Denver Broncos travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on Patrick Mahomes and the AFC West-leading 7-4 Kansas City Chiefs. This is a huge game for both teams with KC leading the division by a single game and everyone else is tied at 6-5. The Chiefs stumbled out the gate to start the season but have picked it over the last few weeks and are on a 4-game winning streak. They’re currently the 4th-best team in the AFC and will need a win against Denver to tie the 8-4 Tennessee Titans for third place.
The last primetime game of the week is an AFC East affair between the 8-4 New England Patriots and the 7-4 Buffalo Bills. Rookie QB Mac Jones is looking like the Offensive Rookie of the Year and a steal for the New England Patriots. Coach Bill Belichick has resurrected the Patriots after a dreadful 2020 campaign and will look to regain their top spot as AFC East champion with a win in Buffalo. The Bills are looking like pretenders compared to last season. They have one of the league’s best defenses and QB Josh Allen isn’t playing as bad as he did his first two year’s in the league but outside of a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, the rest of Buffalo’s wins are against teams with losing records.
