Week 17 of the 2021 MLB regular season starts today with a loaded lineup of nationally televised games. ESPN, ESPN+, MLBN, and FS1 will be the home of this week’s national games, with various regional sports networks providing the local broadcasts. MLB Network will be home to a tough contest in the NL East. The division-leading 52–44 Mets will host the 48-50 third-placed Braves. Today’s game will be the 12th game of the season series and the Mets are leading 6-5.

ESPN+ subscribers will be able to watch an NL West showdown between two of the best teams in all of MLB. The Giants are entering week 17 at the top of the division with an MLB’s best 62-37 record. They will host a Dodgers teams that are right on their tails at second place in the NL West with a 61-40 record. The Giants will be looking to tie up their season series as the Dodgers currently lead 7-6.

Entering week 17, the Red Sox and Rays are the top-2 teams in the AL East and are only separated by a single game. The Sox lead the season series 6-2 coming into the week and look to continue their winning ways in Friday night’s game.

The AL West will be live on FS1 when the Angels host the Athletics. The Angels entered the week at 49-49 and are having a disappointing season in comparison to the production of Shohei Ohtani. They are still without Mike Trout who is recovering from an injured calf and is expected to return in August. The Angels will need all hands on deck to triumph over the second-placed Athletics.

Last week, Cleveland’s baseball team announced they’re changing their name to the Cleveland Guardians. They will be looking to protect their second-place standing in the AL Central when they travel to Chicago to take on the first-place White Sox. The Sox entered the week 10 games ahead of Cleveland but are 5-6 while taking on their division rival.
