Week 9 of the 2021 MLB regular season continues today with a loaded lineup of nationally televised games. Summer is almost here as things are heating up in the AL Central with a tough divisional matchup between its top 2 teams. The 33-21 Chicago White Sox will travel to Progressive Field to take on the 29-24 Cleveland Indians. Since April, these two clubs have faced off 10 times and have split the series 5-5. Yesterday, the two clubs split a doubleheader with the Sox winning a close Game 1 by a score of 8-6 and the Indians winning a low scoring Game 2 by a score of 3-1.

The 19-36 Arizona Diamondbacks will be hosting the 26-20 New York Mets in this week’s MLB Game of the Week Live on Youtube. The Diamondbacks are sitting at the bottom of the NL West and are currently the worst team in the National League. The Mets are sitting at the top of a crowded NL East and will have to avoid an upset to stay on top of the division.

The NL West and AL West will be squaring off on ESPN+ when the Colorado Rockies host the Texas Rangers. Both teams have had disappointing seasons with the 22-33 Rangers currently dwelling in the basement of the AL West. The Rockies are currently in 20-34 and are second from the bottom in the NL West. Both teams will be looking to build momentum with a win on Thursday.

Tradition continues on MLB Network when the Boston Red Sox travel to take on the New York Yankees. This will be the first nationally televised game of the 2021 season between the two storied rivals. Week 9 of the MLB regular season will end on a high note as this 3-game series in the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry reaches its conclusion.
