Week 8 of the 2021 MLB regular season starts today with a loaded lineup of nationally televised games. ESPN, ESPN+, MLBN, FS1, FOX, and YouTube will be the home of this week’s national games, with various regional sports networks providing the local broadcasts. The AL Central and NL Central division leaders go head-to-head as controversial Hall of Fame manager Tony La Russa leads his 26-19 White Sox against his former team the 26-20 Cardinals. La Russa has been critical of his own players and the White Sox have lost 4 of their last 5 games as La Russa has lost the locker room. A win tonight against the Cardinals under the bright lights of primetime on ESPN may help the club restore their winning ways.

FS1 will broadcast a matchup between the second-place teams in the NL and AL West. The 29-18 Dodgers are on fire and are 9-10 in their last 10 games heading into week 7. They will travel to Houston to take on an Astros team that has been struggling as they’re 6-4 over the same timeframe.

Tuesday’s Dodgers-Astros game will have a rematch on ESPN. These two clubs are among the MLB’s best and fans will be in for a treat as they face off under the bright light on national TV for the second night in a row. The game that will be airing your local Fox will entirely depend on the market that you live in. Week 7 comes to its conclusion with an NL East matchup between the 21-19 Mets and 23-24 Braves. The NL East is the tightest division in MLB as of right now and with the first and second-placed teams competing on Sunday night, this game could have huge consequences when it comes to any tiebreakers for playoff seeding in the future.
