Week 9 of the 2020-21 NBA regular season continues with a packed lineup of 10 games including a national doubleheader. The NBA on ESPN will be the home of tonight’s national doubleheader. At the top of the Eastern Conference, Joel Embiid and 18-10 76ers will host John Wall and the 11-16 Rockets at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Sixers are returning to the Wells Fargo Center after completing their 4-game west coast road trip where they were 1-4 and lost their last 3 games.
The late-game will tip-off at 10:00 p.m. ET when the 11-16 Heat continue their 6-game road trip against the 15-13 Warriors. 3 games into their road trip and the defending Eastern Conference champions Heat are 1-2 and are on a 2-game losing streak. Former 2-time NBA MVP Steph Curry is coming off of a 36 point game in the Warriors’ victory over the Cavs.
There are a couple of noteworthy games around the league tonight. In the Western Conference, the Pelicans take on the Trail Blazers at 9 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Northwest and Fox Sports New Orleans. Rip City is trailblazing after winning their last 5 games and will travel to the Big Easy to continue their streak against a Pelicans team that has won 2 of their last 3.
The best team in the Western Conference looks to continue their dominance as the 23-5 Jazz travel to the Staples Center to take on the 21-8 Clippers at 10 p.m. ET on Fox Sports Prime Ticket and AT&T SportsNet-Rocky Mountain. The Jazz have won 8 games straight and are coming off a 134-123 win over the 76ers. The Clippers will need a big game from Kawhi Leonard to have any chance of getting past Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.
