The 49th Annual American Music Awards will take place this weekend, recognizing the most popular artists, singles, and albums of 2021. The show will feature 32 categories representing a diverse range of music.

Cardi B will host the event and she will be the second female rapper in history to do so, following Queen Latifah in 1995. Cardi is up for 3 nominations: Favorite Song – Hip-Hop, Favorite Female Artist – Hip-Hop, and Favorite Music Video.

Olivia Rodrigo leads the field with 7 nominations including Artist of the Year. The Weeknd is right behind her with 6, and there’s a 3-way tie between Bad Bunny, Doja Cat, and Giveon with 5 nominations.

Favorite Trending Song, Favorite Latin Duo or Group, and Favorite Gospel Artist are three new categories that were introduced for this year’s show. Unlike other award shows, the fans will vote for the winners, but you can check out the full list of nominations here.

Turn your speakers up because the AMAs will feature performances from the most popular names in the music industry. Below is the full list of performers.

Diplo will serve as the event’s first-ever musical curator. Olivia Rodrigo, New Edition and New Kids on the Block, and Tyler, The Creator will also be performing but their songs haven’t been announced yet.

The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California will host the event which will be home to some of the biggest stars in American music. Missy Elliott, Kim Kardashian West, Travis Barker, Jimmy Kimmel, Taylor Swift, Henry Golding, Pom Klementieff, BTS, Billie Eilish, and Justin Bieber are just some of the presenters that will be at Sunday’s show.
