The 110th edition of the Australian Open is underway and the best tennis players in the world are competing for a total of $75 million in prize money. As the first Grand Slam of the year, the tournament features events for professional players in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches. The tournament is taking place at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and junior and wheelchair players will compete in singles and doubles tournaments.

This year’s event is the 54th in the Open Era and is being played on a hard surface. 2021 Women’s Singles winner Naomi Osaka was eliminated in the third round of this year’s tournament. 2021 Men’s Singles winner Novak Djokovic was not able to participate in his home country due to his vaccination status.

Usually, the tournament has over 800,000 fans in attendance, however, due to the pandemic, this year’s capacity is 65%. Cord cutters can find out how to watch the 2022 Australian Open below.
