Football fans watching intensely

All eyes will be on the Southeastern Conference during the last game of 2021-22 college football season. No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs under the bright lights of Lucas Oil Stadium, in Indianapolis, Indiana, for the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship.

At 13-1, the Crimson Tide are the defending national champions and are looking to win their 19th title in program history, and their 7th since 2009. Led by Heisman-winning QB Bryce Young, the Crimson Tide are coming off of a massive 27-6 win against No. 4 Cincinnati Bearcats in the Cotton Bowl Classic in the College Football Playoffs semifinals. Heading into tonight’s game, Georgia is a 2.5 point favorite but Alabama demolished the Bulldogs 41 to 24 in December’s SEC Championship Game.

The 13-1 Bulldogs are coming off of a dominant 34-11 win against No. 2 Michigan Wolverines in the Orange Bowl during their College Football Playoffs semifinal game. Georgia’s sole loss is against Alabama in the SEC Championship Game and they’ll be looking to avenge it tonight in the game that counts the most. Georgia’s defensive line is the best in the country and will have to get pressure on Bryce Young if they stand a chance at winning. QB Stetson Bennet IV threw 2 INTS during their first game and he cannot turn the ball over tonight if the Bulldogs want to secure their first national title since 1980.

Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will be providing commentary for tonight’s main telecast of the game. Each team will have a dedicated sideline reporter, with Holly Rowe reporting for the Crimson Tide, and Molly McGrath on the Bulldogs sideline.
