After completing the 2020 NBA Finals just a little over a month ago, the 2020-21 NBA season began with the end of the moratorium earlier this week. Trading began on Monday, but for a lot of teams, the future begins with the 2020 NBA Draft. All 30 NBA franchises will be looking to improve upon their 2019-20 campaigns with their draft selections, with some franchises looking to do a complete 180 by drafting a franchising-changing player.

Here’s how you can watch the 2020 NBA Draft.

When does the draft begin?

The 2020 NBA Draft is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at 7 PM Eastern and will be airing exclusively on ESPN.

Predictions: A night of trades

With the 2019-20 college basketball season being cut short and the NCAA Tournament being canceled, this year’s draft is going to be like no other, as teams have had less tape to scout players.  Either the Minnesota Timberwolves or the Golden State Warriors are 2 of the top 3 teams that I expect are going to trade down to get more picks. Trading down will allow either team to get more picks in this year, or in future drafts, and maybe some decent role players.

It will be interesting to see what the Michael Jordan-owned Charlotte Hornets do with the 3rd pick, as the team hasn’t had much success when drafting in the top 10 since returning to the league as the Bobcats in 2004. The team could use a Rookie of the Year type of player to change their fortunes.

With the 6th pick, the Atlanta Hawks may be another team looking to get more pieces to pair with star PG Trae Young. Teams that could be looking to move up include the San Antonio Spurs or Dallas Mavericks, if the right player is available.

It will be interesting to see what happens and which franchises will make any progress after the events of the 2020 NBA Draft on ESPN.
