With it being a week before the Super Bowl, traditionally the all-star game of the NFL, the Pro Bowl would take place today. However, due to the current circumstances, the league will be doing something different this year with its 2021 NFL Pro Bowl Celebration.
The celebration will be hosted by Sam Ponder and Hall of Fame and 6-time Pro Bowl WR Randy Moss. Ponder and Moss will be joined by ESPN colleagues Chris Berman, former 3-time Pro Bowler Matt Hasselbeck as they host Zoom calls with various Pro Bowl players from both conferences. Throughout the event, they will celebrate the biggest moments from this year’s Pro Bowlers with in-depth interviews and storytelling. Not only will the player’s actions on the field be spotlighted, but the celebration will also spotlight off the field stories and events.
The NFL will be trying to reach out to new generation fans with other virtual events that will be taking place at the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl Celebration. The first-ever VERZUZ player-highlight battle between Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Plus, there will be a preview of Pro Bowl: The Madden NFL 21 Edition Presented by Verizon as part of today’s event.
Players that are confirmed to appear at the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl Celebration include Hopkins, Bosa, Chase Young (Washington Football Team), Cameron Jordan (New Orleans Saints), Myles Garrett (Cleveland Browns), Josh Allen and Tre’Davious White (Buffalo Bills), Stephon Gilmore (New England Patriots), Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings). Plus, Suzy Kolbert will interview both starting QBs of Super Bowl LV, Tom Brady, and Patrick Mahomes. Hall of Famer and 11-time Pro Bowler Brett Favre will discuss Brady and Mahomes with Ponder leading into the Big Game.
