The season finale of the National Football League’s first 18-week regular season has finally arrived. The last week of the NFL season will see teams compete against division rivals with some teams needing a win to lock in a playoff spot.  The AFC West and NFC East will feature a pair of teams from each division competing in the inaugural Monday Night Football: Doubleheader Saturday

Here’s a breakdown of where and how to watch all of the action on the gridiron.

The Games – Start Times and Channels

Saturday, January 8

GameKickoff TimeNetwork
Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos4:30 PMESPN/ABC/ESPn+
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles8:15 PMESPN/ABC/ESPN+

The 2022 AFC West Division winning Kansas City Chiefs (11-5) travel to the Mile High City to take on the Denver Broncos (7-9). The Chiefs locked up the division, which gave them a playoff berth, and they’re currently the second seed if the season ended today. With a win and a Titans loss/tie, the Chiefs can lock up the top seed in the playoffs and get the coveted first-round bye. If Kansas City and the Broncos tie, the Chiefs will need a Titans loss to gain the top seed, first-round bye, and home-field advantage. Denver would love nothing more than to play spoiler since they’re already eliminated from the playoffs.

The 11-5 Dallas Cowboys have won the NFC East and are currently the 4th-seed in the NFC if the season ended today. They’ll travel to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the 9-7 Philadelphia, who has locked a playoff spot and are currently the 7th-seed. Saturday will be the 126th game between these two bitter rivals, and the Cowboys lead the all-time series 71-54-0. When they played in Dallas earlier this season, America’s Team won convincingly 41-21.

Predicting the Winners

Expect this to be a physical Saturday between two pairs of rivals. The Chiefs will likely allow some starters to rest, however, they’re still good enough to leave Denver with a win, and the AFC playoffs will end up going through Kansas City.

In the NFC, the Eagles have been a hungry team and they are going to look to avenge their beatdown back in September. Both teams are just looking to escape the regular-season finale without any major injuries, but with this being a rivalry game, tempers will flare, and the Eagles will fly high with a win.
