The Octagon will be the home of all of this weekend’s MMA action when the bell rings for UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Daukau. In the main event, “The Black Beast” Derrick Lewis will take on Chris Daukaus in what will be the last UFC event of 2021.

At 25-8, Lewis the #3 ranked heavyweight, a former title challenger, and holds the record for most knockout wins in UFC heavyweight history with 12. The heavyweight fighter has won over some of the promotion’s biggest names, including current champion Francis Ngannou, Curtis Blaydes, and Alexander Volkov. Lewis was on a four-fight win streak but it came to an end after a TKO loss against Ciryl Gane at UFC 265, which was in front of his hometown in Houston, Texas. As one of the Octagon’s most popular fighters, Lewis will be looking to get things back on track on Saturday and extend his UFC record for most knockout wins by a heavyweight. As a big hitter, Lewis has 20 wins by knockout and is tied for the most in UFC history with 12. This will be his 9th main event and 23rd fight in the promotion.

Not only is Daukaus an MMA fighter, but he is currently a Philadelphia police officer. At 12-3, he’s the #7 ranked heavyweight and has 11 wins by knockout. The Jiu-Jitsu black belt made his UFC debut in August of 2020 will be main eventing for the first time on Saturday. With only 16 months of experience in the promotion, Daukaus is on a 5-fight win streak and has won 10 of his past 11 fights. Like Lewis, Daukaus is a heavy hitter with 11 of his 12 wins by knockout and all of his past 9 wins are by knockout. This will be his biggest fight to date, with Lewis being his biggest opponent. If Daukaus exits the Octagon with his hand raised in victory then his stock will be raised significantly in his quest for a UFC title shot.

Saturday’s event will feature 14 bouts with 9-ranked fighters across multiple divisions. The UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada will be home to all of the hard-hitting action inside of the Octagon. Cord cutters can find out how to watch UFC Fight Night, below.
