Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to the UFC Apex outside of Las Vegas, Nevada with UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Ankalaev. The 14-bout card will be headlined by a light heavyweight showdown between Thiago Santos and Magomed Ankalaev.

Magomed Ankalaev is the 6th-ranked fighter in the UFC’s light heavyweight division and has a 16-1 record. Fighting out of Russia, he’s on a 7-fight win streak, which features three Performance of the Night achievements. He hasn’t lost in the Octagon since 2018 and a win against Santos should put him within title contention.

Thiago Santos is the fifth-ranked UFC light heavyweight and has a 22-9 record inside of the Octagon. He’s only won 1 of his last 4 fights and hasn’t won by knockout since 2018. He’s a four-time Performance of the Night winner and a two-time Fight of the Night winner. Santos is known to be an ironman of sorts, as he is tied with the most UFC bouts in a calendar year with 5. A win against Ankalaev could get him closer to another light heavyweight title shot.
