Discovery+ launched this week with a monthly subscription starting at $4.99/month after a 7 day free trial. Thanks to a partnership announced before the launch, some Verizon customers can get a free year of the new streaming service. Here’s how.

Who is Eligible?

New and existing Verizon Wireless customers with a Play More or Get More Unlimited plan can get 12 months of Discovery+ for free. Customers with Start or Do More Unlimited plans can get 6 months of free streaming.

New customers who sign up for Verizon 5G Home Internet or Fios Gigabit Connection can receive 12 months of Discovery+ for free. New Fios customers may also be eligible for 3-6 months free, depending on their plan.

How to Sign Up

Go to Verizon’s Discovery+ page. Halfway down the page, look for the section with the heading “Four easy ways to discover more.” You’ll find four options to choose from, depending on whether you’re a current customer with an eligible plan, a current customer looking to switch to an eligible plan, or a new customer.

Choosing the last option “Already have Unlimited?” will take you to a login page. Once you’re logged into your account, you’ll be directed to a page of available add-ons, including Disney+, the Disney bundle, Apple Music, and more, depending on your plan.

After selecting the Discovery+ add-on, Verizon will send you to the Discovery+ website to create an account. Verizon notes that after creating your account, the change could take up to 15 minutes to appear on your Verizon account.

By signing up through Verizon, you’ll get the ad-free version of Discovery+. After your free period is up, you’ll be charged $6.99/month unless you cancel your subscription.

How to Watch Discovery+

Discovery+ is available on iOS and Android, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, Xbox, Samsung Smart TVs, and on the web with Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
