This week Hulu announced their most popular movies and TV shows of 2018 giving us a rare look into the world of Hulu subscribers.
According to Hulu, their most popular TV episode was the season 2 premiere of The Handmaid’s Tale. This probably shouldn’t be a surprise because The Handmaid’s Tale is one of the most popular shows in the United States.
The most popular day was September 23. On September 23, viewers watched the PGA Tour, Sunday night NFL games, their favorite on-demand show, or fall TV premieres.
For animated shows, Family Guy was the most popular followed by South Park and Bob’s Burgers. The number 1 family cartoon was Teen Titans Go.
The most popular movies of 2018 on Hulu included Baywatch, Transformers: The Last Knight and I, Tonya. Together, these three movies accounted for more than 27 million streams.
According to Hulu, the most popular sports teams of 2018 were:
– Washington Capitals (NHL)
– New England Patriots (NFL)
– Georgia Bulldogs (NCAA Football)
– Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA)
– Boston Red Sox (MLB)
According to Hulu, the most popular medical dramas were ER, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Good Doctor with over 100 million hours streamed.
