Hulu Is Holding a Q&A on Reddit This Week

Have a question for the team behind the Hulu streaming service? This Tuesday, January 30, 2018, Hulu’s SVP of Experience will be holding a Q&A on /r/Hulu starting at 2 p.m. Eastern.

Greetings, citizens of Reddit!

2017 is in the books, and so is our first year of live TV. With that in mind, I wanted to stop by to talk about what we learned last year with the new Hulu experience and give a peek into what is coming this Spring.

We learned a lot last year and couldn’t have done it without all of the feedback we received from our viewers, including all of you on r/hulu – so thank you. Here are just a few of our top lessons learned:

In addition to all of the Hulu experience changes, we also added a ton of content in 2017. You all watch an amazing amount of Food Network and HGTV shows, and to my surprise, more Golden Girls than you could possibly imagine. The Handmaid’s Tale won more trophies that we can count and season 2 is just around the corner. Also, Runaways is my personal favorite show that we have ever made. If you haven’t checked it out, it’s a fun show.

We know you probably have a lot of questions and feedback, so I’m excited to announce that I’ll be back for an AMA on Tuesday (1/30) at 11 AM PST/2 PM EST on r/hulu. Looking forward to your questions about Hulu or streaming video, nerding out on your favorite shows, and hearing how Hulu could better serve you!

See you then!

Ben

One question I would like to ask is how many shows do they have and if they do have that many why not have a master listed somewhere so its easier too find stuff too watch. The same question could be asked of Netflix,Amazon and CBS All-Access.

LOL, clearly they haven’t “learned” anything nor do they “listen” to their customers. If they had and do that absolute horror they call a UI would be gone.

I would ask them what happened to “NYPD Blue” which they announced to much fanfare last summer–when they acquired the entire series. Since then “er” has arrived but still no sign of “NYPD Blue”.

It would be nice to revisit the episodes away from syndication where each episode is shortened by 5-7 minutes, and censorship is ridiculous…what was okay in prime time 15 years ago now apparently needs to be “cleansed” for syndication viewers.

I will be interested in reading what he has to say. Having just subscribed to Hulu with Live TV (without commercials), upgrading from regular on-demand Hulu, I’m finding it a bit frustrating to navigate. I just dropped PS Vue in favor of Hulu, while keeping Philo. It seems the combo of the two will give us the greatest number of channels (86, if I counted correctly) with little overlap, for the best price ($60). But I am definitely hoping that Hulu listens to their customer’s complaints on the UI. There are *some* things that I do like about it, but it could really stand to be more easily navigable, etc. for sure.

The UI takes a little getting used to. I felt the same way early on. But now that I am getting used to it I am beginning to see the benefits. Hulu seems to be merging on demand, live and dvred to make for a seamless experience where the source begins to become irrelevant to the user.

I think we all should all the same question.

“When are you going to change your horrible UI?”

Back to back. Ask no other questions. Maybe they’ll get the hint.
