For some time now Hulu has been in negotiations with the Sinclair Broadcast Group to add their CBS affiliates. After months of trying Hulu this week struck a deal with CBS to offer a national CBS feed in 24 markets.
With this national feed you will still get all the great daytime and primetime content from CBS but you won’t get access to local programming including local news. (You can always use apps like NewsON to access live local news in many areas.)
Hulu has confirmed to Cord Cutters News that the CBS National feed is now live in the following markets:
- Salt Lake City
- West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce
- Grand Rapids-Kalmzoo-B.Crk
- Cedar Rapids-Wtrlo-IWC&Dub
- El Paso (Las Cruces)
- South Bend-Elkhart
- Columbia-Jefferson City
- Medford-Klamath Falls
- Beaumont-Port Arthur
- Sioux City
Hulu is not the first to do this as other services like PlayStation Vue, fuboTV, and YouTube TV have all at one time offer a national feed in markets they could not get locals. Hopefully, Hulu and Sinclair can work out a contract to bring a truly local feed to these markets.
