As cord cutting grows the number of subscribers to live TV streaming is continuing to increase. This week Hulu announced that their live TV streaming service has topped 1 million subscribers.
This comes as Hulu announced that 80% of Americans can now get the big four—ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC—on their live TV service. When looking at the number of live locals, Hulu is the streaming service with the most.
Hulu is only the third live TV streaming service to officially announce a million subscribers. (There has been rumors that YouTube TV has hit 1 million or is very close to it but no official word from Google.) Sling TV still leads with over 2.2 million live TV subscribers. DIRECTV NOW is in second with 1.8 million live TV subscribers, and now Hulu is officially in third at 1 million live TV subscribers.
PlayStation Vue and YouTube TV are fighting it out for fourth but many report that YouTube TV has passed PlayStation Vue which is rumored to only be at 600,000 to 800,000 subscribers.
The last official report says that live TV streaming services ended 2017 with about 5 million subscribers. Many say that could soon double to over 10 million as cord cutting continues to grow.
