If you’ve been eagerly awaiting a user interface update that brings Nvidia’s Shield TV more in line with other Android TV devices, we’ve got good news for you. Conversely, if you’ve been hoping the Shield TV would continue avoiding updates like more prominent content recommendations, well, we have some unfortunate news for you instead. Either way, a new update is indeed on its way to Nvidia’s line of Android TV streaming devices.

We saw similar updates arrive on other Android TV devices back in February, with user interface tweaks that take a few notes from the Google TV variant of the software. New additions include a Discover tab with content recommendations, which serves a similar purpose as Google TV’s For You tab. Elsewhere, a new Apps section should let you see more of your options at one time.

One of the most notable additions, however, is the appearance of content recommendations in the upper half of the home screen. In the screenshot below, you can see a suggestion to watch Loki in a spot where earlier Android TV versions displayed a relatively blank space.

Nvidia Shield TV users should start seeing the update roll out to their devices this week.
