Litton Entertainment has announced the launch of a new, free streaming channel dedicated to Jack Hanna content. The ad-supported channel will be centered on the beloved zoologist’s adventures and exploits as one of TV’s most popular personalities. The channel is now live on VIZIO SmartCast in the US and is set to launch on Samsung TV Plus in the US and Canada this April.
“For more than 40 years, Jack has educated, entertained, and introduced viewers to new worlds,” said Andrew Tew, Litton Entertainment Vice President of Licensing and Distribution, General Manager of Global Channels. “A channel dedicated to the decades-long adventures of Jack Hanna, his global travels, and his wildlife and conservation efforts will give millions of fans across generations a new programming destination to find their favorite American icon.”
This news comes after a successful launch of Litton’s first channel, Xplore, in November 2020 which covers genres including travel, lifestyle, natural sciences and technology. The popularity of Jack Hanna-focused content prompted the launch of Litton’s second streaming channel dedicated solely to the zoologist.
In the 1970s, Hanna transformed the Columbus, Ohio city zoo into a worldwide destination with more than two million visitors in 2019. He then went on to become a beloved author and TV personality with shows like “Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild,” “Jack Hanna’s Wild Countdown” and “Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures.”
