Later this month, Disney+ will launch its first animated series from Marvel Studios, What If…?. The storyline flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways, focusing on different heroes from the MCU, The series will even feature a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles from the live-action films.

While this is the first animated series to come out of the studio, Marvel Studios Executive VP of film production Victoria Alonso hinted that it certainly won’t be the only one.

“We’re going to have our animation branch and mini studio, and there will be more to come from that as well,” Alonso told Variety. “We’re super excited about animation, which is my first love.”

Alonso noted that having Disney+ as a platform to expand these MCU storylines was very much a “gift,” something Marvel Studios wasted no time on jumping on with series like WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, and more to come.

“When the chance of being a part of this streaming world came about, we were beyond excited because all of a sudden we could actually give the fans far more than 1/4 of a page or three cool moves.”

What If…?” premieres on Disney+ on August 11. You can watch the trailer below:
