There are several companies preparing to launch new streaming services in the upcoming months. In our recent survey of over 3000 readers, we asked which of those services readers were most looking forward to. Here’s what the survey said.
- 24.2% are planning to try Disney+
- 9.5% want to try the upcoming Warner Media service
- 5.9% are planning to try the T-Mobile streaming service
- 5.8% are looking forward to NBC’s new service
- 1% will be trying Apple TV+
The excitement over Disney+ isn’t surprising. Disney has told us more about their plans for their streaming service than any others. We know that they’re planning a launch date of November 12 this year, that the cost will be an affordable $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year, and even the full lineup of original content including Marvel series, documentaries, and live specials.
We’ve heard much less from the other upcoming streaming services. We know that Warner Media will have a strong content library and NBC will be benefitting from getting rights for The Office back from Netflix. T-Mobile seems to be struggling to get the deals they need to be a strong competitor while Apple TV is relying on the big names behind their original content including Reese Witherspoon, Steven Spielberg, and Oprah.
