MoviePass Just Ended Their Unlimited Plan

MoviePass, the service that use to let you see a movie a day for one low monthly payment, recently quietly changed their rules for new customers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, new customers can now only see 4 movies per month and the CEO doesn’t know if the unlimited plans will ever return. “We just always try different things,” Lowe said. “Every time we try a new promotion, we never put a deadline on it.”

According to reports, the unlimited plan ended back on April 13th, 2018. Now the $9.95 a month plan will let you see 4 movies per month. (Still a crazy good deal.) Movie pass has also limited the number of times a customer can see the same movie. Now Moviepass customers both new and old can only see a movie once. You do also get a free 3 month trial of iHeartRadio All-Access.

Here is the new disclaim on the $9.95 deal.

*Offer includes four movies a month with MoviePass and an extended, free 3-month iHeartRadio All-Access trial. Only available to new subscribers. Will be billed for the full three month plan at sign-up, then billed quarterly afterwards.

Movie pass has issued the following statement about the change. “We recently made some updates to our Terms of Service, including the policy that MoviePass subscribers are only permitted to see any movie in the theaters once with their MoviePass. This falls within our continued effort to limit fraud on our app and has been effective in doing so in the past.”

From the sounds of it, MoviePass is trying to cut back on customers reselling tickets they purchased through MoviePass.
