ng8zspcv4wubkb28zeyyCord cutting is continuing to put pressure on Hollywood to change how they release content. Now major motion pictures are coming to digital services, like Amazon Video, just 2 months after they are released in theaters.

The Martian is the most recent movie to be released on digital just about two months after it was released in theaters. You will be able to rent or buy it on Amazon Video December 22, 2015, a quick turnaround for a movie that came out in October 2015.

It was not that long ago that movies would come to home media almost a year after it was released in theaters. Then it was moved to 8 months followed by 6 months, 4 months, and now just 2 months. We are already seeing some smaller movies being released at the same time, but what we are seeing now are major blockbuster movies coming out shortly after they come to theaters.

With the growth of digital media, it is clearly putting strong pressure on Hollywood to take consumers who want digital content seriously. Hopefully, this is just a start of what should be more content being made available to people through digital media.
