NBCUniversal Widens Its National News Programming Due to Coronavirus

To address the need for more widely available news sources in light of the coronavirus crisis, NBCUniversal is making MSNBC and CNBC available in partnership with its distribution partners, to all their video customers, regardless of the packages to which they subscribe.

Subscribers can watch the content through their video provider or through MSNBC’s and CNBC’s online platforms on an authenticated basis.

NBC News Now, a 24/7 online news streaming service will also be free to all viewers, making all of the news resources from NBC News, MSNBC, and CNBC available to all viewers.

“NBCUniversal is committed to providing a public service during the coronavirus pandemic, generating awareness and ensuring all U.S. households receive the latest news and information on the evolving global situation,” the company said in a statement.

This news follows an announcement from Hulu about making ABC News Live 24/7 available for all on-demand subscribers and Fox News making its live news stream available for free.
