Good news for Stranger Things fans! Netflix just announced a 3rd season of Stranger things! The second season of Netflix’s Stranger Things won’t be released until October, but co-creators Ross and Matt Duffer have already confirmed a third. In an recent interview, Ross said the series will likely be “a four-season thing and then out.” Yet the imagined fourth season hasn’t actually been greenlit yet.

During the interview, the Duffer Brothers reveal a few minor details about the second season. The main reveal is that it will feel more like a movie sequel than a TV show. As for the just-confirmed third season, the brothers say the storyline will likely have to move outside the small, fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. “We just have to keep adjusting the story,” Matt says. “Though I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.”

Stranger Things’ first season ended with Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) returning to Earth after being stuck in the Upside Down with a monster. A final scene hinted that Will may have accidentally brought the monster back with him, but it left fans with a lot of questions, and season 2 trailers haven’t really sorted things out.

Stranger Things’ second season will air on Netflix on October 27th.
