Today, Netflix announced that Season 6 of Grace and Frankie will be released in January 2020. This comes a full year after the Season 5 premiere in January 2019.
Netflix also announced that Season 7 will be the final season of the series, with 16 episodes. This will make Grace and Frankie the longest running Netflix original series with a total of 94 episodes over all seven seasons.
Grace and Frankie stars Jane Fonda as Grace and Lily Tomlin as Frankie. The two women face a major life change when they find out that their husbands are gay and are leaving their wives to be with each other. Grace and Frankie form a close friendship and stick together while they deal with forming their new futures.
“We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season. We’re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well!” Fonda and Tomlin said in a joint statement to ET.
Fonda, Tomlin, Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, June Diane Raphael, Brooklyn Decker, Baron Vaughn and Ethan Embry will all return for the final season.
