Making a MurdererRecently Netflix announced that it would be filming a second season of “Making a Murderer” and the web exploded; however, we have not heard much about it since the announcement.

You may remember “Making a Murderer” as the breakout Netflix original that tells the story of Manitowoc County resident Steven Avery, who spent 18 years in prison for a rape he did not commit. Avery then was convicted, along with his nephew, Brendan Dassey, in the brutal 2005 murder of photographer Teresa Halbach.

But the story goes on and finally we have heard something from the Netflix VP when it comes to “Making a Murderer” season 2.

“The story is still ongoing, so you will see new episodes coming sometime this year as this story continues to unfold,” Netflix’s VP of original content, Cindy Holland, told USA TODAY, per realscreen.com. “We don’t know when for sure new episodes will be coming.”

“Laura and Moira are (in Manitowoc) shooting regularly and working on what the right story is to tell in the next set, so we’re deferring to them on when it will be ready,” Holland told USA TODAY. “Very few people inside of Netflix actually know the details of what we’re getting because we’re wanting to keep it really under wraps and it is an ongoing case so we’re trying to be sensitive to that.”

Although no date is set in stone Netflix still lists the show as scheduled for 2017 release; however, with Netflix it won’t be surprising if no official release date is set until the show is only a few weeks or maybe even a few days before it is released.

So the good news is you should get season 2 of “Making a Murderer” sometime this year, but we do not know when.
