We now have a release date for the highly anticipated reboot of the classic ‘Lost in Space’ reboot. The show will premiere on April 13th 2018.

Here is the announcement trailer from Netflix:

From Netflix:

The Robinson family, part of a highly trained mission to establish a new colony in space, is unexpectedly pulled off course forcing them to crash land on a lost planet.

Netflix has already made the show available in space. Recently astronauts aboard International Space Station had the opportunity to view the pilot episode according to Netflix.

This is not the first attempt at a reboot of Lost in Space after the 1998 film series rights holder Synthesis Entertainment tried to get NBC to pick up a new show and the deal fell apart. In 2003 a John Woo-helmed TV pilot was offered to the now-defunct WB Network, which quickly passed on the pilot. No other networks seemed interested.

It has now been about 50 years since the original Lost in Space aired. The Twentieth Century Fox-produced show, which has three seasons and a total of 83 episodes, is still in syndication today.
