For months now rumors have been flying around of a new 5th gen Apple TV. Now it looks like we have one more hint that a 4K HDR capable 5th gen Apple TV will soon be here.

Now BGR has found a tweet from an iOS developer named Guilherme Rambo that points out new bits of data that name drop J105A, Apple’s apparent internal code for the upcoming 4K-enabled Apple TV, in the seventh tvOS beta.

Interestingly, data recently unearthed in Apple’s HomePod firmware a few weeks ago also point to a 5th gen Apple TV with support for both 4K and HDR content. With all this evidence piling up, it’s a safe bet that Apple’s new Apple TV will allow users to enjoy 4K content with vastly improved color accuracy and contrast.

Apple didn’t reveal many details about Apple TV during WWDC earlier this year. The only real Apple TV news was that they soon will support Amazon Prime Video. But Apple could be saving a new Apple TV product announcement for when it unveils its newest iPhone in September.

Cord Cutters News does plan to do live coverage of the new Apple. No date has been set but we expect it to happen at some point in September.
